The City Bikeways Consultation Report has been posted. You can find it here:
It canvasses the views of businesses, residents, cyclists, professionals in the field, and anyone else interested. It also includes the results of an RAA survey of its members.
Interestingly, there were no submissions made in favour of reinstating 4 lanes of traffic on Frome Street. Most business respondents wanted to keep the existing situation, preferring existing parking over traffic capacity. A slight majority (54%) of the respondents of the RAA survey wanted a return to four lanes of traffic. No cyclists did.
Why then would the Council want to go on making a laughing stock of itself, ripping out yet another bikeway that it has installed?
