BISA’s thoughts on the State’s infrastructure planning

BISA has responded to Infrastructure SA’s invitation to comment on its discussion paper.

We have urged Infrastructure SA to consider the disruptive possibilities of new technologies before committing to infrastructure that may soon be obsolete.  Other themes of our submission are the need to take on board the impact of induced traffic when more traffic capacity it provided, as well as the impacts of that extra traffic on walking and cycling.  We have also stressed the need to consider the health, liveability and environmental impacts of infrastructure spending.

Finally, we outline the sorts of cycling infrastructure that is needed.
